Welcome to Lockdown Season! This is The Gaiety’s new online programme of theatre, workshops, and events. It’s a place for you to watch shows and live streams, and maybe even take part in some creative sessions or conversations. Just like before this whole COVID-19 thing! You can browse what’s on and sign up to take part. We are also working hard to reopen your theatre as soon as it is safe — you can find more information about this on our main website. In the meantime, The Gaiety needs your support, so please think about making a donation.
Watch pre-recorded performances, new digital theatre and talks with some special guests. You’ll find shows from our local amateur and community theatre groups, as well as professional shows. And we’ll be sharing recommendations about the best online theatre from around the UK and beyond. There will be weekly updates so come back to check for new material and make sure to stay up to date with us over on Twitter and Facebook.

“Do you need a wee dose of happiness right now”. Participate in our workshops, conversations, and online activities. If you are a young person (aged 16-25) or older and retired you can try out the workshops below. We’re inviting you to connect, make something and have a much-needed laugh.
The Gaiety Theatre is a thriving powerhouse of performing arts; bringing entertainment, education and inspiration to Ayr and surrounding communities. More than just a building, we are proud of the projects we deliver in the community; our youth workshops and drama classes provide increased accessibility for those with additional needs, and we tour top-class productions to rural communities through our Ayrshire Rural Touring Network.
As a registered Scottish charity (Charity No SC041464) and during this current time, The Gaiety depends upon the generosity of individuals like you to make our work, on stage and off, happen.
With your donation together, we can ensure The Gaiety is around to entertain and inspire future generations.
Thank you for your support.
